BHS Orchestras Win BIG at Music in the Parks

BHS Orchestras Win BIG at Music in the Parks

Symphony Orchestra Best Overall

BHS Chamber Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra won first place at the Music in the Parks competition at Six Flags in Jackson, New Jersey. Out of dozens of musical groups from New York and New Jersey, both BHS groups had adjudicated performances where they each scored an excellent rating--and first place. The Symphony Orchestra went on to win best overall orchestra in the festival.

One of the pieces played by the Chamber Orchestra was composed by Brewster High School Senior Keilee Mojica, the viola section leader, as part of her capstone or Senior Success Project.

Teacher Kim Orwick directed the BHS Chamber Orchestra and teachers Andrea Perdicho and Orwick co-directed the Symphony Orchestra.

After the competition, students and faculty enjoyed a well-deserved day in the park to celebrate the great performances and a year of hard work and dedication.
